How to send codes in Telegram and save money – Telegram OTP

What is it and how does it work?

Telegram OTP (One Time Password) is a solution for sending automatically generated one-time codes/passwords and authorization messages in Telegram by phone number, even if it is hidden by the recipient's privacy settings.

All codes are sent to a single channel for codes from companies – Verification Codes.

In essence, this is a more budget-friendly alternative to SMS for messages with codes, which are sent to the familiar Telegram chat interface that users use for everyday communication.

If the user does not have Telegram installed, the message will be sent in cascades, thus increasing the likelihood of delivery.

Why is this needed?

The solution will be relevant for companies that need to authorize users and confirm certain actions. Sending codes can be used in:

Getting started with Telegram OTP is easy: just check the box in your personal account settings, and the codes will be activated. Each user gets 10 codes to test it out.

What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Telegram OTP has a number of advantages over the classic verification method – SMS:

Cost. Sending messages via messenger is significantly cheaper than SMS, as Telegram has a fixed cost that does not depend on the operator or the recipient's location, and there is no subscription fee.

Delivery speed. Codes are delivered in seconds via our own global server network, thereby eliminating the possibility of message text interception.

There is no possibility of blocking. When sending the same type of text to messengers, internal algorithms may classify such messages as spam and impose temporary restrictions on the account. When using OTP, there is no possibility of blocking, and you can send an unlimited number of codes.

Sending even to a hidden number or premium account. In Telegram, sending messages may be restricted by the recipient's privacy settings (number hidden or only Premium accounts can write first). OTP will be delivered regardless of these settings to the official channel for verification codes.

The only drawback is that Telegram OTP does exactly one thing: it delivers the code to the user in Telegram, if they are registered in the messenger.
